Dear fellow Buddhists,

I offer my deep gratitude to everyone who has cherished and protected Sowonsa for more than forty years. The temple we see today exists because each of you offered your care and support, contributing in whatever way you could.

From the time I first settled here and began building this temple, you have stood beside me in shared aspiration. Through your offerings and devotion, we have fulfilled, one by one, the promises made at the beginning.

From Daeungjeon, Sansingak, Gwaneumjeon and Myeongbujeon to the reclining Buddha, Haesu Gwanseeum Bosal, the family columbarium and the car park, no part of these grounds is untouched by your generosity.

As you walk through Sowonsa, please look at what we have built together. If you wish to know where and how your offerings were used, you are always welcome to ask. Sowonsa is a temple nurtured through your faith and devotion.

I hope Sowonsa will be a place where anyone may come with a heartfelt wish, offer prayers and rest with an easy mind, even for a little while. May people gather before the great reclining Buddha, remember loved ones at the family columbarium, and come together as families to share warmth and care.

Once again, thank you for being part of Sowonsa over these many years.

May you and your families remain healthy, and may peace dwell in every home. May your sincere wishes come to fruition through good connections.

May you attain awakening.
