Daeungjeon enshrines Shakyamuni Buddha at the heart of the temple. Built with the devotion of the Buddhist community, it was completed in August 1994 and dedicated in March 1995.
Inside the hall
Shakyamuni Buddha is accompanied by Manjushri and Samantabhadra. There are also altars for the Seven Stars, Ksitigarbha, Buddhist guardians and the departed. Take time to appreciate the prayers associated with each altar.
Looking at the architecture
The temple guide records that large timbers from several regions were used for the columns and beams. View the hall from the courtyard, then look closely at its eaves and wooden structure.
